Go Beyond the Certification.

Technical dive training for divers who take it seriously.

Technical diving demands more than checking boxes on a certification card. It demands discipline, precision, sound judgment, thoughtful planning, and the ability to perform when conditions become challenging.

Beyond the Buoy provides professional, personalized technical diving instruction for divers who want more from their training. We keep our classes small so you get something that larger training operations can't always provide: direct instructor attention, meaningful feedback, and training built around your development as a diver.

Our focus isn't simply on getting you certified. It's on helping you become a more capable, confident, self-sufficient technical diver.

Every dive has a purpose. Every skill has a reason. Every training decision is made with your long-term development in mind. From equipment configuration and buoyancy to gas planning, decompression strategy, team awareness, problem-solving, and in-water execution, we emphasize the details that separate simply completing a course from truly developing technical diving proficiency.

Beyond the Buoy brings a high level of professionalism and technical expertise to divers throughout the Carolinas and Southeast.
Small classes. Individual attention. Expert instruction. Exceptional value.

Whether you're taking your first step into technical diving or preparing for more advanced depths, decompression, wreck, or mixed-gas environments, your training should prepare you for what comes next-not simply get you through what's required today.

At Beyond the Buoy, we train divers to think.

To plan.

To communicate.

To recognize problems before they become emergencies.

And to execute skills deliberately when it matters.

Because the goal isn't just another certification. The goal is becoming the diver who is ready for the dive.
